Canadian Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice
The Appraisal Institute of Canada is a self-regulating organization that is guided by the one of the highest standards in the file of appraising; the Canadian Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (“CUSPAP”). These Standards ensure members maintain the highest level of integrity and professionalism; engage in conduct that instills confidence and protect the public interest; provide quality services within areas of competency; and commit to principles that reflect high standards of professionalism. These standard regulate not only appraisal methodology, but also business practice and the conduct of members.
Appraisal Institute of Canada
The Appraisal Institute of Canada (“AIC”) is the leading real property valuation association in Canada. It was established in 1938 and is guided by industry leading Code of Conduct and Professional Standards.
An AIC Designation is a nationally recognised hallmark of quality and the greatest assurance of which the public can avail itself when seeking real property appraisals and consulting services. The designation is awarded only upon completion of the Institute’s AIC’s Program of Professional Studies and an Applied Experience.
Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute
The AACI, P. App (Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute, Professional Appraiser) designation denotes fully accredited membership in the Appraisal Institute of Canada and may be used by the holder for the appraisal of all types of real properties. It is granted to those who have completed the rigorous curriculum, experience, and examination requirements.
